WHY TAKE CLASSES?

Isn't coming to Church each Sunday enough?

The basic principles we study are profound, but not necessarily easy to embody and practice in our daily lives. Sunday morning is where we hear about our potential, but the classroom is where we experience practical application of the principles.

The ongoing process of regular SCIENCE OF MIND class attendance is where we begin to embody a true change in our consciousness.

What happens in class?

The dynamics in the SCIENCE OF MIND classes offer fertile ground for growing new ideas. Each SCIENCE OF MIND class takes on an energy of its own which stimulates the individual's mind.

Through lectures, discussions, and workshops, the student learns how to personalize the same metaphysical principles used by spiritual masters throughout history.

Is there tuition for classes?

Yes. Taking a SCIENCE OF MIND class requires a commitment of both time and money. The Truth is, little can be achieved without commitment. Your financial and emotional investments are important for change. SOM classes run eight weeks, and cost either $15/week paid weekly, or $110 paid at the beginning.

SCIENCE OF MIND CLASSES

The following accredited classes in the Science of Mind and related metaphysical philosophy are offered at different times. Please call 925-363-9070 for information on dates and times. Certificates of Completion are issued from Religious Science International for those students who have completed 4 units of study in a Series and have met all course requirements. There are no prerequisites for classes in the 100 or 200 Series.

SOM 100 SERIES
The basic principles of Religious Science - a must for beginners! Students are given a foundation in understanding Spiritual Laws and Spiritual Mind Treatment

SOM 101: 'The Spiritual Path'
Introduces students to the background, history, and beginnings of Science of Mind as well as to a new concept of God. Classes explore how God relates to the individual and how thought creates our personal reality. This course introduces the steps of spiritual mind treatment, also known as affirmative prayer.

SOM 102: 'The Nature of Effective Prayer'
This class is designed to give the student a thorough understanding of the nature and practice of affirmative prayer. Incorporates exercises that develop the student's understanding of how to pray effectively for themselves. Participants practice by writing spiritual mind treatments.

SOM 103: 'Building A Healing Consciousness'
Students deepen their understanding of effective spiritual mind treatment, and develop a greater understanding of the nature of the creative process in the individual. The student will begin building a healing consciousness through their affirmative prayer work.

SOM 104: 'The Principles of Successful Living'
Students explore the role of consciousness in co-creating his or her own life, developing a positive, life-affirming consciousness is one of the goals of this class. Upon successful completion, participants will have a greater understanding of our place in this spiritual universe and our relation to the one creative source.

SOM 200 SERIES
The study and application of New Thought principles to daily living for an enhanced understanding of the power of consciousness. There are about twelve classes in this fascinating series, including the following:

SOM 202:'The Power of Decision'
This class is designed to empower students to reach independent decisions which enhance the quality of their lives. Based on the powerful metaphysical class, 'The Power of Decision' by Raymond Charles Barker, this course is valuable for both the new and experienced Science of Mind student.

SOM 205: 'Spiritual Economics'
Focusing on prosperity issues, the student will gain a greater under-standing of the basic metaphysical principles which govern our financial well-being. Participants will learn how to use these principles effectively in everyday life. This is a sensible, solution-oriented class, and is appropriate for the new or advanced student.

SOM 206:'What the Mystics Taught'
This course is designed to deepen the students' actual experience of the timeless and eternal nature of spirit. Students will experience various spiritual practices that enhance the individual's sense of connection to all life through prayer, meditation, poetry, art and music. Science of Mind has a mystical and practical legacy of Oneness that will be explored in depth in this class.

SCIENCE OF MIND 300
Professional Practitioner Training

These advanced studies in Spiritual Mind Treatment and the development of a healing consciousness may be used for professional growth leading to a Practitioner's license. 90% attendance required.

Prerequisites: SOM 100 series (certificate) and SOM 200 series (certificate)

SCIENCE OF MIND 400
Professional Ministerial Training

This 2-year course of study prepares ministerial candidates for their qualifying examination and is prerequisite to the SOM 400 Intensive.
